This clip from “Pennin Manathai Thottu” is I think right up there with the best things I’ve seen recently. It’s not quite obsessive material, but I do watch it every few days and I’m just as mesmerized. The Song is “Kalluri Vaanil” and the stars are Prabhu Deva and Jaya Sheel. Prepare to be blown away.
Wow. Just. Wow. It starts of all Top Gunny (is that the movie? Brain is melted) then turns into, what it is! The highlights for me start around 2:15. First he seems to grab her inappropriately. Then they do some dirty dancing. Then, if you are up to speed on Tunak Tunak Tun, you will recognize the “play the sitar” move. And I love her sweet voice, his scraggly dress, and well just everything.
I’m going to bed now to dream about moving to India and becoming a Bollywood Star.
1 million years ago my friend Heather’s husband Thomas had us watch this amazing video. We of course enjoyed it immensely and watched it a million times. See if you can spot such famous dance moves as the “Play the Sitar” and the “Ride the Camel”.
A few days ago I was hosting a couchsurfer and he mentioned the “Indian Elvis” and after some searching I realized he was talking about this. Then last night, it was in my super bizarre dream ( I think I met Mr. Tunak) so I thought it was time to record it as something that I endorse as amusing.
All I know, is that it is awesome. Thank you Coilhouse (which is an amazing blog, btw) for pointing me in the direction of this video. Now I really want my own troupe of animal cheerleaders. No, I got it. I will BE an animal cheerleader when I grow up, I wonder where I go to get that degree? (sorry, I unfortunately can’t embed this, so you gotta clicky clicky)
After watching this, and a few other bizarre videos that I post later, I have been inspired to add a “psychedelic” category. Warning, many of these you probably shouldn’t watch while under the influence of psychedelics.
I have a bit of an obsession* with Asha Bholse, she is just amazing. This song in particular is great. Dum Maro Dum means “Take Another Toke”. I’m not condoning anything illegal, but you have to admit this is a pretty great video+beautiful song. I love the “HARE KRISHNA…” squeaky voices. I love Bollywood.
*Throughout this blog, you will find out that I’m obsessed with many things. I think I’ve watched this particular video about 25 times in the past week. Problem? Me? no.
